Is Saffron Extract Safe?
I’m a long time watcher of Dr. Oz. One day, I saw that he was recommending satiereal saffron extract as a supplement to help suppress appetite. And I really didn’t know whether or not this was something good for you. In all honesty, I had never even heard of saffron extract. So I thought I would do some digging, and here is what I found.
Saffron Extract is taken from the saffron plant. The saffron plant has been used for thousands of years as a spice and for its medicinal properties. So, we know that its relatively safe for human consumption. Ancient peoples have been using it for thousands of generations in a wide variety of ways.
But that’s actual saffron, not saffron extract, that were talking about there. So the real question is, does saffron extract have any properties that can cause a serious reaction?
Not as far as people can tell right now. It seems that for the moment the only side effects that saffron extract might have is generally a lower appetite, eating less, and occasional nausea.
